Thor #82

Thor issue 82, published in 2004, arrived during the final arc of the volume written by Dan Jurgens. This period marked a somber conclusion to a long-running tenure, as the narrative led into the climactic events of Ragnarök, which effectively ended the title’s publication at that time. The story served to resolve lingering plot threads involving the gods of Asgard, reflecting the weight of cosmic stakes that defined Jurgens' multi-year influence on the character.

The interior art was provided by Andrea Di Vito, whose detailed and kinetic style was instrumental in grounding the high-fantasy elements of the Ragnarök saga. Di Vito’s work during this transition was widely noted by readers for bringing a clean, cinematic sensibility to the battle-heavy script. The issue is remembered by collectors as a vital piece of the lead-up to the total destruction of the Asgardian pantheon, capturing the atmosphere of inevitable finality that permeated the series before its temporary cancellation.
