Ultimate Fantastic Four #10

Ultimate Fantastic Four #10 was published in 2004 as part of Marvel Comics' Ultimate line, an initiative designed to modernize and reboot the company's classic characters for a new generation of readers. This specific issue is a pivotal installment in the 'N-Zone' story arc, which explores the team's experimental attempts to cross into other dimensions. The narrative aims to strip away decades of dense continuity, presenting a more grounded and contemporary take on the origins and interpersonal dynamics of Reed Richards and his colleagues.

The issue features script work by Mike Carey and artwork by Jae Lee, whose distinctive, moody, and cinematic style is synonymous with this era of the Ultimate imprint. Lee’s visual approach favors dramatic shadows and stark composition, which was intended to distinguish the series from the brighter, more traditional aesthetic of the mainstream Fantastic Four titles. Upon release, the issue was generally received as a successful example of the Ultimate line's darker, more character-focused storytelling, contributing to the broader critical acclaim the series enjoyed during its initial run.
