Ultimate Spider-Man #117

Ultimate Spider-Man #117 was released in 2007 as part of the 'Death of a Goblin' story arc, a pivotal moment in the long-running Ultimate Marvel universe. This series, launched in 2000, sought to modernize the classic Spider-Man mythos for a new generation by grounding Peter Parker's journey in a contemporary setting. Written by Brian Michael Bendis, the issue continues the intense narrative tension established during this era of the series, where the stakes for teenage Peter were frequently life-altering.

The interior artwork for this issue was handled by Stuart Immonen, who took over primary penciling duties during this period, bringing a clean, dynamic style that defined the late-stage aesthetic of the Ultimate run. Known for his ability to balance grounded character interaction with high-impact action sequences, Immonen's contributions were well-regarded by readers for maintaining the momentum of Bendis's scripts. The cover art, consistent with the series' branding, reflects the darker, more serialized approach that characterized Brian Michael Bendis's extensive tenure on the title.
