Ultimate Spider-Man #113

Ultimate Spider-Man #113 was released in 2007 as part of the long-running Ultimate Marvel imprint, which reimagined classic Marvel characters for a modern audience. This specific issue falls within the 'Death of a Goblin' story arc, a pivotal moment in the series that chronicles the ongoing and volatile conflict between Peter Parker and Norman Osborn. The creative team at the time, featuring writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Stuart Immonen, aimed to subvert traditional superhero tropes by focusing on the heavy psychological and physical toll that Peter's dual life extracts from his personal relationships.

Stuart Immonen, who took over artistic duties on the series following Mark Bagley, brought a sharper, more cinematic visual language to the book that defined the mid-to-late run of the title. His work in this issue is often noted for its fluid character expression and dramatic pacing, which underscored the high stakes of the Ultimate universe. At the time of its publication, the series was widely praised for its consistency and its ability to maintain a contemporary relevance while remaining faithful to the core essence of the Spider-Man mythos.
