Ultimate Spider-Man #92

Ultimate Spider-Man #92, published by Marvel Comics in May 2006, serves as part of the overarching 'Deadpool' story arc within the Ultimate Marvel universe. The series was designed by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mark Bagley to modernize Peter Parker's origin and development for a 21st-century audience, stripping away decades of complex continuity to focus on a grounded, character-driven narrative. This specific issue features the titular character's encounter with the Ultimate iteration of Deadpool, whose design and personality were significantly retooled to fit the darker, more cynical tone of the Ultimate imprint.

The art in this issue reflects the established visual style of the series, characterized by Bagley’s clean, cinematic storytelling that defined the Ultimate Spider-Man aesthetic for over a hundred issues. The creative team aimed to juxtapose Spider-Man’s youthful idealism against the visceral, mercenary nature of Deadpool, creating a high-stakes conflict that tested the protagonist's burgeoning moral code. The issue was well-received at the time of its release, contributing to the series' reputation as one of the most successful and consistent comic book runs of the 2000s.
