Ultimate Spider-Man #93

Ultimate Spider-Man issue 93, released in 2006, serves as a pivotal installment within the 'Deadpool' story arc of the Ultimate Marvel universe. Written by Brian Michael Bendis with artwork by Mark Bagley, this issue showcases the creative team’s signature approach to reinterpreting classic Marvel villains for a modern, grounded audience. The series was designed to modernize Peter Parker's origins and challenges, and this specific arc brought the merc with a mouth into the Ultimate continuity, contrasting his chaotic persona with the more earnest, youthful demeanor of the Ultimate Spider-Man.

The art by Mark Bagley remains a defining visual component of this era, characterized by his clean, kinetic style that helped define the aesthetic of the Ultimate line throughout its lengthy initial run. Upon release, the issue was well-received by fans of the series, who appreciated the interplay between Bendis’s dialogue-heavy scripts and Bagley’s consistent, expressive character work. The issue remains a notable inclusion for collectors documenting the transition of iconic characters into the successful Ultimate brand.
