Ultimate Spider-Man #108

Ultimate Spider-Man #108 was published in 2007 as part of the long-running Ultimate Marvel imprint, which reimagined classic characters for a contemporary audience. This specific issue is notable for being part of the 'Death of a Goblin' story arc, written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Mark Bagley. The series was designed to strip away decades of complex continuity, offering a grounded, character-driven take on Peter Parker's teenage years that became a cornerstone of the line's success.

The creative partnership between Bendis and Bagley was instrumental in defining the Ultimate aesthetic, characterized by a more cinematic, decompressed storytelling style. Their run on the series is widely regarded for its consistency and for Mark Bagley’s prolific work ethic, as he held the title of lead artist for an unprecedented span of issues. Upon release, this era of the series was lauded by critics and fans for successfully modernizing the Spider-Man mythos for a new generation of readers.
