Uncle Scrooge #111

Uncle Scrooge issue 111, published by BOOM! Studios in 2010, arrived during a brief period when the publisher held the license to produce Disney comics in the United States. This era was characterized by an attempt to modernize the presentation of classic characters while maintaining the spirit of the long-running Dell and Gladstone iterations. The issue serves as part of the continuity that bridged the gap between earlier legendary runs and contemporary storytelling approaches.

The creative direction for this series focused on accessibility and a return to the adventurous, globe-trotting tone established by Carl Barks decades prior. While individual issues in this short-lived run were often overshadowed by the historical prestige of the Gold Key or Gladstone eras, they are noted by collectors for their clean, crisp production values and dedication to the expansive lore of the Duck family, reflecting a deliberate effort to introduce newer generations to the wealthy mallard's exploits.
