Web of Spider-Man Annual #9

Web of Spider-Man Annual #9 was published in 1993 during a period when Marvel Comics was heavily invested in large-scale crossover events. This issue serves as part of the 'Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage' storyline, an epic multi-part narrative that spanned nearly every Spider-Man title of the time. The story follows Spider-Man as he forms an uneasy alliance with various anti-heroes to stop the chaos unleashed by the symbiote villain Carnage across New York City.

The issue features cover art by Alex Saviuk, who was a definitive Spider-Man artist during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The interior work was provided by writer Terry Kavanagh and artist Sal Buscema, the latter of whom was celebrated for his long-standing and distinctively kinetic contributions to the Spider-Man mythos. The issue was designed to capture the high-stakes, action-oriented tone that defined the 1990s comic book industry, prioritizing aggressive layouts and dramatic character interactions to satisfy the demands of collectors during the speculatory boom of the era.
