Wonder Woman #103

Wonder Woman #103 was published by DC Comics in January 1959. This period in the character's history falls under the editorship of Robert Kanigher, a writer and editor who was instrumental in defining the Silver Age identity of the Amazon princess. The title was navigating the post-Golden Age landscape, shifting away from William Moulton Marston's original psychological and feminist allegory toward a more traditional, fantastical superhero adventure format that emphasized science fiction elements and mythological tropes.

The interior art was provided by Ross Andru, a prolific artist who collaborated frequently with inker Mike Esposito to create the distinct, fluid look of the DC Silver Age. During this era, Wonder Woman stories focused heavily on imaginative, often whimsical, tales involving space travel, alien threats, and bizarre transformations. As a standard issue from the late 1950s, it reflects the prevailing industry standards for the Comics Code Authority, prioritizing episodic escapism over the complex, socially conscious narratives that would define the character in earlier and later decades.
