Where it came from
Bony Tony is a figure from the Pop! Garbage Pail Kids series, which translates the iconic, grotesque trading card characters of the 1980s into the stylized Funko Pop aesthetic. The original Garbage Pail Kids cards were created by Topps as a satirical response to the Cabbage Patch Kids phenomenon, utilizing exaggerated, macabre humor to resonate with the youth culture of the era.
The figure features the classic Funko design sensibilities, maintaining the oversized head and simplified features characteristic of the brand while capturing the specific visual identity of the Bony Tony character. This iteration reflects a broader trend of Funko revitalizing nostalgic properties, aiming to appeal to collectors who value the intersection of modern vinyl collectibles and the edgy, subversive art style that defined the eighties underground satire scene.
