C-3PO (Futura)

Released in 2016, the C-3PO Pop! figure numbered 64 was part of Funko’s promotional tie-in for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This specific iteration is widely recognized by collectors as the 'Futura' design, featuring an artistic aesthetic influenced by the famed street artist Futura 2000. The design incorporates his signature abstract, graffiti-inspired patterns and bold color blocking, moving away from the character's traditional metallic gold finish to align with the stylized sensibilities that characterize Funko's artist-series collaborations.

The figure was created during a period when Funko was actively expanding its portfolio to include high-concept designs that bridge the gap between mass-market vinyl collectibles and urban street art. By reimagining a classic cinematic icon through the lens of a renowned contemporary artist, Funko sought to appeal to a more diverse demographic of collectors who value limited-run, visually distinct interpretations of established pop culture franchises. The design was received by the community as a significant departure from standard character models, cementing its status as a notable display piece within the broader Star Wars collection.
