Cao Cao

Cao Cao was released as part of the Pop! Asia series, a branch of Funko's flagship line specifically curated to highlight historical and cultural icons from Asian history and folklore. This figure is based on the legendary warlord and poet from the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history, a figure central to the classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The design prioritizes the character's traditional appearance as depicted in popular media, emphasizing his regal armor and scholarly yet commanding aesthetic.

The figure was produced to bridge the gap between contemporary vinyl collecting and classic Eastern literature. By rendering a historical figure of such gravitas in the stylized, chibi-inspired Pop! aesthetic, the design team aimed to make the character accessible to a global audience. The piece was received primarily as a collector's item for enthusiasts of the Three Kingdoms franchise and fans of international history-themed figures, marking a unique intersection of modern pop-culture merchandising and classical Asian historiography.
