Captain Marvel (Tesseract)

This Funko Pop! figure, numbered 444 in the Marvel line, was released in early 2019 to coincide with the theatrical debut of the film Captain Marvel. It captures Carol Danvers in her iconic Kree Starforce uniform, holding the Tesseract, a recurring MacGuffin throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe that serves as the casing for the Space Stone. The figure was produced as part of a wider wave of merchandise designed to introduce audiences to the character's origins and her pivotal role in the shared cinematic universe.

The design draws directly from the aesthetic established by the film's costume department, emphasizing the teal and silver color palette of the Starforce gear. Funko designers aimed to balance the stylized, oversized head proportions typical of the Pop! vinyl aesthetic with specific details like the metallic sheen of the suit and the translucent, cube-like rendering of the Tesseract. Upon its release, the figure was widely distributed through major retail chains, becoming a staple for fans looking to commemorate the entry of a powerful new hero into the ongoing Avengers narrative.
