Where it came from
Released in 2023 as part of the Disney 100th Anniversary collection, this Pop! figure depicts the iconic scene from the 2009 Pixar film Up where Carl and Ellie Fredricksen paint their mailbox together. The design commemorates one of the most poignant sequences in modern animation, serving as a tribute to the studio's long-standing legacy of storytelling during the centennial celebration of the Walt Disney Company.
The figure was conceptualized by the design team at Funko to capture the domestic warmth of the characters' shared life. By focusing on the specific visual motif of their hand-painted mailbox, the piece highlights the central theme of their relationship. Upon its release, it was well-received by collectors who gravitate toward pieces that emphasize character-driven moments rather than traditional action-oriented depictions.
