Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Disney series, this piece commemorates the iconic and emotionally resonant opening sequence of the 2009 Pixar film Up. The figure captures the moment Carl and Ellie Fredricksen stand beside their brightly colored balloon cart, a symbol of their shared lifelong dream to explore the world. It was designed to evoke the whimsy and nostalgia of the film, translating the stylized, distinct proportions of the characters into the signature vinyl aesthetic that collectors have come to recognize.
The figure, numbered 1152 in the Disney line, serves as a companion piece for fans of Pixar’s storytelling legacy. Its design focuses on the contrast between the modest, vintage attire of the couple and the vibrant, oversized balloons that define the film's visual identity. Upon release, it was well-received by collectors who prioritize figures that represent specific cinematic milestones rather than just individual character portraits.
