Where it came from
The Cassidy Pop! figure, numbered 367 in the Television line, was released by Funko in 2016 to coincide with the television adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's cult comic book series, Preacher. The figure captures the character's signature look from the series, featuring his hallmark leather jacket, sunglasses, and the distinct tousled hair associated with the Irish vampire. It was produced as part of the initial wave of merchandise for the AMC show, which brought the dark, irreverent tone of the source material to a broader cable audience.
The design of the figure reflects Funko's signature aesthetic, balancing the simplified, large-headed caricature style with the specific visual markers of the character. By incorporating the character's rugged ensemble, the designers aimed to translate Cassidy's gritty, chaotic persona into the accessible vinyl format common to the Pop! line. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of the comic series who appreciated the show's faithful visual commitment to the source material’s graphic design roots.
