Where it came from
The Cassidy Pop! figure, released as part of the Funko Pop! Television line, represents the character Proinsias Cassidy from the AMC television series Preacher. Based on the Vertigo comic book series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, the show brought the chaotic and supernatural narrative of the source material to a wider audience, leading Funko to release this figure in 2017 to coincide with the show's cult following.
The design captures Cassidy's signature look, featuring his disheveled hair, sunglasses, and leather jacket. The 'Bloody' variant is a stylistic nod to the character's violent nature and the show's dark, gritty tone. Like many television-based figures in the series, it was designed to appeal to both fans of the show's irreverent humor and collectors of pop culture memorabilia who value the distinct Funko aesthetic applied to mature-themed properties.
