Where it came from
This Funko Pop! figure was released as part of the 2020 collection celebrating the 65th anniversary of Disneyland. The series was designed to commemorate iconic attractions and characters from the park's history, capturing the whimsical aesthetic that has defined the resort since its opening in 1955.
The figure features the Cheshire Cat from the 'Alice in Wonderland' dark ride, which was an opening day attraction at Disneyland. The design team at Funko focused on recreating the character's signature wide, mischievous grin and vibrant purple-and-pink color palette, aiming to evoke nostalgia for the specific charm of the original park experience as seen by millions of visitors over six decades.
