Chilly Willy With Pancakes

Chilly Willy, the anthropomorphic penguin created by Paul J. Smith for the Walter Lantz animation studio, first appeared in the 1953 theatrical short titled Chilly Willy. The character was designed to fill the void left by Woody Woodpecker in cold-weather scenarios, quickly becoming a staple of television animation due to his persistent, wordless attempts to secure food and warmth, usually at the expense of a beleaguered Smedley the Dog.

This Funko Pop! Animation figure, numbered 486, depicts Chilly Willy engaged in his defining pursuit: procuring a meal. The design captures the character’s iconic wide-eyed expression and simple, rounded aesthetic that defined the classic mid-century animation style. Released as part of the broader Animation line, it serves as a nostalgic nod to the golden age of theatrical shorts, and was received by collectors as a faithful representation of the character's mischievous spirit.
