Where it came from
Chip, the diminutive and mischievous chipmunk from the 1943 short 'Private Pluto', was immortalized as the 30th entry in the Pop! Art Series. This line was developed by Funko to celebrate iconic characters by applying distinct, graphic patterns directly onto the vinyl figures, moving away from traditional solid color schemes. The series was designed to appeal to collectors looking for a more aesthetic, gallery-style take on classic animation icons.
Part of the 'Disney: Treasures from the Vault' collaboration, this specific figure draws its design inspiration from the heritage of Disney's golden age of animation. The artistic pattern utilized for this release evokes a mid-century illustrative style, reflecting the vintage charm of Disney’s early shorts. Upon release, the figure was well-received by fans of the Vault collection, who appreciated the intersection of modern vinyl toy design and the storied history of Disney's character library.
