Where it came from
Chip Potts, the endearing teacup from Disney's 1991 animated classic Beauty and the Beast, was released by Funko as part of their Pop! Disney line under number 794. The figure was produced to celebrate the film's enduring popularity and iconic character design, capturing the essence of the character with his signature chipped rim and saucer base, reflecting the studio's transition into the celebrated Disney Renaissance era.
The design follows Funko's signature aesthetic, which prioritizes large, circular heads and minimalist features to evoke a sense of nostalgia while maintaining a modern collectible feel. These figures are generally well-received by fans for their ability to distill complex animation character designs into accessible, uniform desktop displays, serving as a staple within the vast Disney merchandising ecosystem.
