Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, this figure commemorates the character Chubbs Peterson from the 1996 sports comedy film Happy Gilmore. The figure was produced to celebrate the enduring legacy of the film, which stars Adam Sandler as a frustrated hockey player who turns to professional golf. Chubbs, portrayed by Carl Weathers, serves as the iconic mentor figure whose patient guidance provides the film with much of its heart and comedic contrast.
The design of the figure captures Chubbs in his signature golf attire, complete with his prosthetic hand, a defining detail of the character's backstory. Funko’s designers aimed to balance the stylized, oversized-head aesthetic of the Pop! line with the recognizable features of Weathers’ portrayal. Upon release, the figure was well-received by fans of the 90s cult classic as a nostalgic tribute to a beloved cinematic mentor.
