Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, this figure captures the character Chubbs Peterson from the 1996 sports comedy film Happy Gilmore. The figure was produced to celebrate the film's enduring cult status, specifically highlighting the character's role as the mentor to Adam Sandler's protagonist. Its design follows the standard aesthetic of the Pop! series, rendered in the characteristic vinyl stylization with a square-jawed, oversized head.
The figure is notable for its specific iteration, depicting Chubbs as he appears without the prosthetic hand he wears throughout much of the film. Designers aimed to capture his iconic athletic attire, reflecting his background as a former professional golfer. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of 1990s cinema as a nostalgic collectible that pays tribute to the late actor Carl Weathers, who brought warmth and gravitas to the comedic role.
