Where it came from
Claptrap, officially designated as CL4P-TP, is a central, recurring character in the Borderlands video game franchise developed by Gearbox Software. This specific Funko Pop! figure, number 1165 in the Pop! Games line, was released in anticipation of the Borderlands 4 title. It captures the character's iconic, single-wheeled robotic aesthetic, which was originally conceived to represent a tragicomic survivalist in the desolate, post-apocalyptic landscape of Pandora.
The design of this figure leans into the stylized, exaggerated proportions characteristic of the Pop! brand, while maintaining the weathered, utilitarian look defined by the game's cel-shaded art style. As a hallmark of the Borderlands merchandising strategy, this iteration serves both as a collectible for fans of the long-running series and as a promotional piece for the narrative evolution seen in the latest installment of the franchise.
