Where it came from
Claptrap, officially known as the CL4P-TP general purpose robot, serves as the iconic, albeit hapless, mascot of the Borderlands video game franchise. Released to coincide with the rollout of merchandise for Borderlands 3, this specific distressed variant highlights the character's signature look of wear and tear, reflecting his constant state of mechanical decay and persistent, sarcastic personality throughout the series.
Designed by the Funko team as part of their Pop! Games line, the figure captures the character's distinct single-wheeled aesthetic and expressive optic sensor. The design intent was to maintain the hyper-stylized proportions typical of Funko figures while incorporating the grimy, post-apocalyptic textures essential to the Borderlands visual identity, a style that has been widely embraced by fans for its faithfulness to the source material.
