Where it came from
Cling is part of the Funko Pop! Television line, released as figure number 897. The character originates from the 2019 Netflix original series 'The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,' a prequel to Jim Henson’s 1982 cult classic film. The design is intended to capture the intricate puppetry of the Garthim-like creature, rendered in Funko’s signature stylized aesthetic with large, dark eyes and simplified proportions.
The figure was produced during a period of high interest in modern fantasy revivals, aiming to bridge the gap between long-time fans of the original puppet-based world and new audiences. It was released as a standard retail item to complement the broader collection of Gelfling and Skeksis figures, serving as a representation of the creatures that inhabit the world of Thra.
