Cthulhu (Black & White)

Released as part of the Funko Pop! Books line, the Cthulhu figure—numbered 03—was introduced to celebrate H.P. Lovecraft's iconic cosmic entity. The design draws directly from the Cthulhu mythos, featuring the character's signature cephalopod-like head, wings, and tentacles, distilled into the stylized, large-headed aesthetic characteristic of the Funko brand. This black and white variant serves as a stylistic nod to the classic, gritty illustrations often associated with early twentieth-century horror literature.

Funko’s design team opted for a monochromatic palette to emphasize the figure's eldritch origins and lend it a distinct, stark appearance compared to the standard color edition. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of both the horror genre and collectible toy culture, serving as an accessible entry point for readers of Lovecraftian fiction to display their fandom. It remains a representative piece of the early expansion of the Pop! brand into literary and cult-classic horror characters.
