Where it came from
Cubbi Gummi was released as part of the Funko Pop! Disney line, specifically commemorating the 1985 animated series Adventures of the Gummi Bears. The figure depicts the youngest and most adventurous member of the Gummi tribe, capturing his characteristic youthful energy and his penchant for knightly aspirations. It serves as a nostalgic nod to the show, which was the first animated program produced by Walt Disney Television Animation and played a significant role in establishing the company's foothold in syndicated television.
The design of this figure adheres to the stylized aesthetic characteristic of the Pop! brand, featuring the oversized head and simplified facial features that define the series. By focusing on the core attributes of the character—such as his vest and his adventurous expression—the design team aimed to evoke the spirit of the original animation. The release was well-received by fans of the 1980s Disney Afternoon block, appealing to collectors who maintain an interest in the company's early television history.
