Where it came from
The Emperor Joker Pop! vinyl figure, released as part of the Pop! Heroes line under number 457, draws inspiration from the 2000 comic book storyline of the same name. In this narrative, the Joker gains the reality-warping powers of Mr. Mxyzptlk, allowing him to reshape the universe according to his chaotic whims. Funko produced this figure to capture the character's god-like transformation, portraying him in his distinctive purple and green imperial robes with an expression reflecting his newfound omnipotence.
The design of the figure emphasizes the regal yet deranged nature of the character, moving away from his traditional suit to reflect the mystical influence of the 5th-dimensional imp. As part of the broader Batman franchise, the figure serves as a collectible nod to one of the more surreal arcs in DC Comics history. It was released to appeal to long-time readers of the Batman mythos who favor deep-cut variants over standard character depictions.
