Espio

Espio the Chameleon first appeared as a member of the Chaotix in the 1995 title Knuckles' Chaotix for the Sega 32X, designed by Takashi Iizuka as a disciplined ninja character to contrast with the more boisterous members of the Sonic roster. Over the decades, Espio became a staple of the franchise's expanded cast, known for his signature purple scales, horn, and tactical shinobi attire. His inclusion in the Pop! Games line as figure number 1119 reflects Funko's ongoing efforts to catalog the secondary characters of the Sonic universe, moving beyond the titular hedgehog to appeal to long-time fans of the series' lore.

The design of the figure adheres to the standardized Funko aesthetic, featuring the character's characteristic large, black, solid eyes and enlarged head, while maintaining his iconic purple color scheme and shuriken-wielding pose. Released as part of a wave that expanded the Sonic The Hedgehog series, this figure was received by collectors as a faithful representation of Espio's modern design. It serves as a bridge between classic 90s character archetypes and the contemporary collectibility of the Funko brand, focusing on high-recognition silhouettes that align with the established visual language of the Sonic franchise.
