George Harrison (Yellow Submarine - Color Reject)

The George Harrison figure from the Funko Pop! Rocks series, numbered 29, was released as part of a collection celebrating the 1968 animated musical film Yellow Submarine. The design draws directly from the film's distinct psychedelic art style, which was heavily influenced by Heinz Edelmann, the art director behind the movie's surreal visual aesthetic. These figures were produced to honor the cultural impact of The Beatles' foray into animation, capturing the band members in the vibrant, colorful costumes featured in the film's later sequences.

The 'Color Reject' variant is a specialized production piece, often referred to in collector circles as a factory error or an unpainted prototype variant. These items typically emerge from the manufacturing process when a figure bypasses the final paint application stage, resulting in a monochromatic or miscolored piece. While not an intended retail variant, these items are highly sought after by collectors for their rarity, as they offer a glimpse into the physical construction and material composition of the Pop! vinyl figure before the final aesthetic design is finalized.
