Where it came from
Hairy Dawg, the official mascot of the University of Georgia Bulldogs, was immortalized as Funko Pop number 8 within the Pop! College series. Released as part of Funko's effort to capture the school spirit of major collegiate athletic programs, the figure features the mascot in his signature game-day attire, reflecting the character's long-standing role as an icon of Georgia football since his debut in the early 1980s.
The design follows the standard Pop! aesthetic, emphasizing the oversized head and stylized features typical of the line while incorporating the specific aesthetic markers of the Bulldog mascot, such as the jersey and the anthropomorphic bulldog head. The series was generally well-received by alumni and collectors alike, serving as a popular piece of memorabilia that bridges the gap between traditional mascot plushies and modern collectible vinyl figures.
