Where it came from
The Han Solo Concept Series Funko Pop, numbered 472 in the Star Wars line, draws its inspiration directly from the original pre-production sketches created by Ralph McQuarrie for the first Star Wars film. These illustrations served as the foundational visual language for the franchise, featuring design elements that evolved significantly before the final production of A New Hope.
This specific figure was released as part of a limited edition concept series, characterized by its distinct aesthetic that mirrors the rougher, more experimental character designs of the 1970s. Funko developed this series to appeal to deep-cut collectors and fans of the franchise’s artistic development, opting for a design that emphasizes the historical evolution of the character rather than his finalized screen appearance.
