Where it came from
Hanami is a character from the popular dark fantasy manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen, created by Gege Akutami. Within the series, Hanami is a special grade cursed spirit born from humanity's fear and hatred of the forests, embodying the desire for the natural world to reclaim the earth from human destruction. This Funko Pop! figure was released as part of the Animation line to commemorate the character's significant role in the Shibuya Incident arc, capturing their distinctive, branch-like appearance and one-eyed visage.
The design of this collectible aims to translate Hanami's intricate and vegetative aesthetic into the signature Funko Pop! stylized vinyl form. By focusing on the character's unique facial features and organic textures, the designers sought to maintain the ominous yet ethereal presence that Hanami projects in the source material. As part of the broader Jujutsu Kaisen collection, the figure serves as a representation of the series' diverse antagonist cast and was developed to meet the demand from fans of the anime's high-stakes combat sequences.
