Hanuman (Purple)

The Hanuman Pop! figure, part of the Pop! Asia series under number 42, draws its inspiration from the revered monkey deity central to the Hindu epic, the Ramayana. Produced as part of Funko's effort to expand their reach into regional cultural icons, this figure depicts Hanuman with his iconic mace, reflecting his stature as a symbol of devotion, strength, and courage. The purple color variant is a distinct stylistic interpretation within the series, catering to collectors interested in the intersection of traditional mythology and contemporary vinyl art.

The design follows the classic Funko aesthetic, featuring the signature oversized head and simplified features that define the Pop! line. By reinterpreting mythological figures through this specific lens, the series aimed to bridge the gap between global pop culture and specific cultural identities. While the Pop! Asia line was initially targeted toward specific regional markets, these figures gained an international following among collectors who valued the series for its departures from mainstream Western media characters.
