Hanuman (Red)

The Hanuman (Red) Pop! figure, numbered 42 in the Pop! Asia series, was released by Funko to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Southeast Asian mythology. As part of the Legendary Creatures & Myths sub-line, the figure translates the complex iconography of the Hindu deity Hanuman into the company's signature stylized aesthetic. The design emphasizes the character's traditional vermilion coloring, a hue often associated with devotion and strength, while simplifying the deity's elaborate divine attributes into a compact, vinyl format.

This figure was produced to appeal to a growing global interest in regional folklore through the lens of modern collectible toys. By featuring a character of such historical and religious significance, Funko sought to bridge the gap between traditional iconography and contemporary pop culture trends. The design process focused on retaining recognizable elements of Hanuman—such as his monkey-like visage and authoritative posture—while ensuring the figure remained cohesive with the broader Pop! aesthetic, resulting in a piece that functions as both a decorative object and a cultural tribute.
