Where it came from
The Ironheart MK 2 Funko Pop, numbered 1176 in the Marvel series, was released to coincide with the 2022 theatrical debut of Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This figure depicts Riri Williams, the genius inventor who crafts her own version of high-tech armor, in her secondary suit from the film. It captures the character's transition from student to superhero, reflecting the cinematic design that blends sleek mechanical plating with the distinctive aesthetics established by Wakanda's technological advancement.
The design of the figure was overseen by Funko’s creative team to align with the visual branding of the film, focusing on the intricate purple and gold accents of the armor. Like other figures in the Marvel Pop line, the item utilizes the brand's signature stylized aesthetic—oversized head and simplified features—to translate complex screen-accurate costumes into a recognizable, approachable collectible format. Upon release, it became a focal point for fans of the character, particularly as it represented one of the key new additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's roster of armored heroes.
