Where it came from
The Okoye Midnight Angel figure, numbered 1177 in the Marvel Pop! series, was released to coincide with the 2022 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Produced by Funko, this item depicts the character Okoye in her specialized Midnight Angel armor, a high-tech suit designed by Shuri that grants its wearer enhanced strength and flight capabilities. The figure captures the aesthetic evolution of the Dora Milaje, shifting from their traditional attire to the advanced kinetic combat gear seen during the film's climax.
The design of the figure emphasizes the sleek, metallic aesthetic of the Midnight Angel armor, featuring the distinct blue and silver color palette that differentiates it from the standard red and gold uniforms. Funko designers aimed to replicate the silhouette of the suit while adhering to the brand's signature stylized proportions. Upon release, the figure was well-received by fans and collectors of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly those focusing on characters from the Wakanda-based story arcs.
