Where it came from
Kenny McCormick, the iconic, perennially doomed character from the animated series South Park, was immortalized in vinyl as part of Funko's initial wave of figures dedicated to the show. Released to capture the irreverent spirit of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's creation, the figure was designed with the signature minimalist, blocky aesthetic that defines the Pop! line, ensuring that Kenny's orange parka and muffled appearance remained instantly recognizable to fans of the long-running Comedy Central program.
The figure, numbered 38 within the Pop! Television collection, serves as a staple for collectors of early animation merchandise. While the line has since expanded to include dozens of variants and characters from the town of South Park, this original rendition is prized for its simplicity and fidelity to the character's early appearances. It reflects the broader cultural transition of the late 2000s and early 2010s, when high-end vinyl collectibles began to shift from niche designer items to mass-market staples.
