Where it came from
The King George Funko Pop, numbered 13 in the Pop! Broadway series, was released to commemorate the runaway success of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical Hamilton. The figure depicts King George III in his signature regal attire as portrayed on stage, reflecting the production's blend of historical costuming and contemporary artistic sensibility. It emerged during a period of rapid expansion for the Funko brand, which sought to bridge the gap between niche theatrical fandoms and mass-market collectibles.
The design draws heavily from the stage aesthetic of the Broadway production, capturing the monarch's exaggerated, flamboyant cape and crown to mirror the character's signature comedic presence. Upon release, the figure was well-received by theatre enthusiasts and collectors of the Hamilton franchise, serving as a tangible memento of the show's cultural phenomenon. Like other figures in the Broadway line, it is characterized by the standard stylized aesthetic of the brand, emphasizing the iconic features that make the character instantly recognizable to fans of the musical.
