Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, this figure commemorates the 1982 cult classic fantasy film The Dark Crystal, directed by Jim Henson and Frank Oz. The figure was produced to tap into the enduring nostalgia for the film’s pioneering animatronics and dark, immersive world-building, catering to a dedicated fan base that grew significantly after the 2019 release of the prequel series on Netflix.
The design captures the protagonist Gelfling, Kira, accompanied by her loyal companion, Fizzgig. The stylized vinyl aesthetic simplifies the intricate textures of the puppets into Funko's signature oversized-head format. This particular version, featuring a closed-mouth Fizzgig, is one of a few variants released to satisfy collectors who appreciate the specific character dynamics represented in the source material.
