Kirk

Released as part of the Funko Pop! Rocks series in 2023, this figure commemorates Kirk Hammett, the longtime lead guitarist for the heavy metal band Metallica. The item was produced to coincide with the release of the band's eleventh studio album, '72 Seasons', which explored themes of the formative years of childhood and the internal struggles that persist into adulthood. This Pop! figure captures Hammett in his characteristic stage presence, reflecting the band's enduring visual iconography and their long-standing partnership with Funko to immortalize their lineup in vinyl form.

The design of the figure leans into the stylized aesthetic common to the Pop! Rocks line, emphasizing simplified, bold features that echo the musician's public persona. Funko’s design team aimed to balance the company's signature oversized-head silhouette with specific details recognizable to fans, such as Hammett's typical performance attire and his iconic guitar stance. As with other entries in the Metallica series, the item was received as a accessible collector's piece for fans of the band, serving as both a memento of the '72 Seasons' era and a tribute to Hammett's contribution to rock history.
