Where it came from
Kurogiri, identified as number 789 in the Funko Pop! Animation line, represents one of the primary antagonists from the My Hero Academia franchise. Produced as part of Funko's extensive licensing agreement with the series, this figure captures the character's signature nebulous appearance, featuring the distinctive purple mist surrounding his head and the metal neck brace that defines his design. The character serves as a central figure in the League of Villains, and this collectible was released to satisfy demand from fans of the anime's character-rich roster.
The figure reflects Funko's signature stylized aesthetic, which emphasizes oversized heads and simplified, bold features to maintain a consistent visual identity across thousands of characters. Designed to appeal to both casual followers of the show and dedicated collectors of the Animation line, the piece highlights Kurogiri's enigmatic nature through careful color application and molded detail. Like many figures in the My Hero Academia series, it saw widespread release during the height of the franchise's popularity, establishing itself as a standard piece within the broader collection of villain-themed merchandise.
