Where it came from
Kurogiri, the warp-gate wielding antagonist from the My Hero Academia franchise, was immortalized as Funko Pop number 1245 within the Pop! Animation line. The character serves as a central figure for the League of Villains, known for his mysterious gaseous composition and his role as the caretaker of Tomura Shigaraki. This figure was released to capture the character's distinct aesthetic, characterized by his flowing purple mist and metallic neck brace, reflecting the high-stakes atmosphere of the series' central conflict.
The design of this figure leans into the stylized proportions typical of the Pop! Animation series, emphasizing the contrast between the translucent purple elements that define Kurogiri’s body and the structured, suit-like attire he wears. As part of a broader collection celebrating My Hero Academia, this item was developed by Funko to satisfy the demand for collectible representations of the series' darker, secondary characters. Upon release, it was well-received by fans of the franchise for its faithful recreation of the character’s complex, shifting visual identity.
