Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Animation series, number 888 captures Kyo Sohma, a central character from the beloved anime and manga franchise Fruits Basket. The figure was produced to celebrate the 2019 reboot of the series, which introduced the poignant story of the cursed Sohma family to a new generation of viewers, focusing on Kyo's transformative journey and his connection to his animal spirit.
The figure features Kyo in his iconic school uniform, accompanied by his orange cat form, representing his true nature. The design prioritizes the recognizable aesthetic of Funko's vinyl line while incorporating specific character details, such as Kyo's vibrant hair color and the signature orange tabby cat. It was received warmly by the anime community, serving as a staple collectible for fans of the emotional and long-running Fruits Basket narrative.
