Lard Lad

The Lard Lad Funko Pop is a representation of the iconic, oversized statue from The Simpsons, which serves as the mascot for the doughnut shop of the same name in the fictional town of Springfield. The character design is rooted in the mid-century American trend of 'muffler men'—giant fiberglass roadside statues meant to draw the attention of motorists to local businesses. The Funko figure captures the statue's signature chef-like hat and the giant doughnut held aloft in one hand, rendered in the brand's simplified, large-headed aesthetic.

First introduced as part of the Pop! Television line, the figure was designed to appeal to collectors of long-running animated series memorabilia. Funko’s approach for this character focused on translating the statue’s stoic, slightly eerie expression into their standardized vinyl format. The item was well-received by fans of The Simpsons for its inclusion of a deep-cut cultural landmark, effectively bridging the gap between mainstream merchandise and the show's extensive history of satire and background jokes.
