Where it came from
Larry Johnson is a central character in the indie psychological horror game Sally Face, developed by Steve Gabry and released episodically starting in 2016. The figure was produced as part of the Funko Pop! Games line to commemorate the game's cult following and distinct art style, which features heavily stylized, slightly grotesque character designs that draw inspiration from 90s animation and gothic aesthetics.
The design of the figure captures Larry's signature appearance, including his long hair, casual attire, and his association with his father's old apartment building, which serves as the primary setting for the series' supernatural mysteries. Funko collaborated with the game's creators to translate the 2D, sharp-edged aesthetic into the recognizable Pop! vinyl form, a process that aims to retain the moody, dark tone of the original game while adhering to the standard company template.
