Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Rocks series in 2019, this figure immortalizes Larry Mullen Jr., the drummer and founding member of the iconic Irish rock band U2. The figure was produced to celebrate the band's enduring global legacy and their impact on rock music since forming in Dublin in 1976. As part of a set commemorating the band members, it reflects the company's initiative to capture the likenesses of legendary musicians during that era of their careers.
The design follows Funko's signature aesthetic, featuring a stylized oversized head and minimalist features, dressed in a way that evokes the band's understated, moody aesthetic often associated with their mid-career photography. Like many figures in the Rocks collection, it was aimed at both dedicated U2 fans and pop culture enthusiasts. It was received as a standard collectible addition to the extensive Rocks line, valued primarily for its role in completing the full band lineup rather than for unconventional artistic departures.
