Where it came from
Littlefoot, the orphaned Apatosaurus and central protagonist of the 1988 animated classic The Land Before Time, was immortalized in Funko's Pop! Movies line as number 1839. This figure commemorates the enduring legacy of Don Bluth’s film, which was produced by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg to tell a poignant, emotionally resonant story of survival and friendship during the prehistoric era. The character design stays true to the original hand-drawn aesthetic, capturing Littlefoot’s expressive eyes and gentle posture that helped define a generation of animation.
The figure was released to serve the nostalgia of fans who grew up with the film’s message of hope and the journey to the Great Valley. Funko’s design team aimed to translate the soft, rounded animation style of the 1980s into their signature stylized vinyl format, focusing on the specific proportions that make the character instantly recognizable. Upon its release, it was well-received by collectors who prioritize film history, standing as a tribute to one of the most beloved animated dinosaurs in cinema.
